NBA Mock Draft 5.0: Cavs, Thunder, Warriors, Lakers and Pistons all make trades
Detroit Pistons: NBA Mock Draft 5.0 pick No. 22
The Detroit Pistons would love to grab another first round pick and would be happy to give up Josh Jackson and a second rounder to do so.
If the Detroit Pistons re-sign Hamidou Diallo, then Jackson becomes a trade piece, as they have redundant skills but Diallo is younger and better.
The Lakers will look to add some veteran depth and would love to have a long defender like Jackson, who can probably help them more than this draft pick would.
They are the most “win now” team in history, as they have the goat LeBron James who is finally starting to show signs of being human and Anthony Davis, so they aren’t trying to rebuild.
They can grab a useful veteran on a cheap contract which would give them a chance to make additional moves.
The Pistons need shooting and Duarte is one of the best shooters in the draft. Kispert gets all the press but Duarte was actually more efficient and versatile as a shooter.
He would look great coming off the Pistons’ bench and giving Detroit some much-needed shooting.
