Detroit Pistons: Danny Green is the veteran shooter the Pistons need

Danny Green checks both the boxes. He’s a leader who doesn’t expect to be a centerpiece, and he also provides valuable shooting and spacing. He’s also the prototype for a three-and-d player, which the Pistons do not have enough of.

Green is a winner. He has three rings, nearly won a Finals MVP but never did thanks to Ray Allen, and was a starter every year he ran deep in the playoffs. He is nursing an injured calf but could have already been cleared to play if the 76ers won their series against the Hawks. He wouldn’t take minutes away from Bey but would be a valuable backup who could offer input and support for all 48 minutes, even when he isn’t on the court.

The Detroit Pistons are happy to have a young up and coming team but could use some veteran leadership to balance it out especially if that leader can hit a 3-point shot.
