Detroit Pistons: NBA Draft trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves

There is really no telling what the Timberwolves are going to do, as it seems like they are bad no matter what their roster looks like.

They have some talent with last year’s first pick Anthony Edwards to go with Karl-Anthony Towns, D’Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley but somehow they still had the third-worst record in the Western Conference and have to give their first-round draft pick to the Golden State Warriors.

Here is a trade to get them some depth and to get the Detroit Pistons a veteran point guard to mentor their youngsters:

In this trade, the Pistons get a veteran point guard with a high basketball I.Q. to come off the bench and act as a mentor to Killian Hayes and Cade Cunningham.

The Wolves get a veteran point guard to replace Rubio in Cory Joseph, a long athletic defender to help their defense in Josh Jackson and get the 37th pick in exchange for having to pay Joseph.

The Pistons wouldn’t hurt their long-term flexibility as Rubio is only signed for one more season. I actually love this trade, get on the phone, Troy!
