Detroit Pistons: NBA Draft trade with the Denver Nuggets

The Denver Nuggets might have made a return to the Finals if Jamal Murray had not been injured and will still have MVP Nikola Jokic to build around.

They could also use an injection of defense on the wing and might want to move off their first-round pick to save some cap space for re-signing Michal Porter Jr. Here is a trade that clears a bit of cap for them and still allows them to pick early in the second round, where they have been able to find talent in the past.

In this trade, the Nuggets get the better, more versatile player and move back slightly into the NBA Draft, while the Pistons get some power forward depth, a guy who is a better shooter and get to move into the first round.

I don’t know if the Nuggets would see Jackson as a big enough upgrade to move back in the draft to get, but he does fill a need and would open up a few million in cap space without taking on any long-term money.

I like Green as a tough backup who will force Sekou Doumbouya to earn minutes and can add some shooting. The Detroit Pistons also get an extra first-round pick, and even though it is late, this is a deep draft and Weaver has shown he can sniff out talent.
