Detroit Pistons: NBA Draft trade with the Dallas Mavericks

The Dallas Mavericks don’t have a pick in this draft and the Pistons have three in the second round, so there might be a match there.

As I’ve said, Detroit could use a veteran point guard, so why not bring one of Michigan’s favorites to the hometown team?

Burke was awesome in the playoffs a few years ago but didn’t do much this season and the Mavericks would probably like to move off his contract, which runs for two more seasons.

He’s only making just over $3 million, so it’d be a low-cost veteran point guard for Detroit to bring off their bench and the Mavericks would get some draft picks and cap relief.

The Pistons aren’t likely to use all of their 2nd round picks anyway, so this would be one way to fill a need using those picks.

We will be doing this with every division in the NBA, so check back this week for the rest of the series.
