Detroit Pistons: Possible NBA Draft trade with the Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets are the only team in the Southeast where there is potential for a blockbuster, as they have a pick the Pistons might want and have a need Detroit could fill.

I don’t think the Pistons would do a trade like this and I would laugh and hang up the phone personally, but it does make some sense.

The Pistons need a veteran point guard and bench scoring and Rozier can provide both. He is a 20 ppg scorer and makes slightly less than Grant and his contract is up after next season.

This would leave the Pistons with a staggering amount of cap space after next season when the Blake Griffin contact is off the books. They’d also get the 11th pick, which they could use to take another high-ceiling talent like James Bouknight.

It would give the Pistons more future cap flexibility, and add another piece to their young core. The Hornets get the better player, a guy who would be perfect for their young team and raise the ceiling of their playoff chances next season.

I still wouldn’t do it, but it’s tempting.
