Detroit Pistons: Bleacher Report actually proposed a sensible Jerami Grant trade

For all of the atrocious Grant trades out there, occasionally a media-made trade proposal comes along that actually makes sense.

Bleacher Report recently published an article of trades for every NBA team not in the Finals. The article proposed a trade between the  Detroit Pistons and the Memphis Grizzlies which looked as such.

For once, a media outlet has constructed a Grant trade that actually makes sense for the Detroit Pistons. Rather than being swindled by receiving another team’s rejects, the Pistons would actually net valuable assets in return for their 27-year-old star.

To be perfectly clear, this article is not asserting that the Pistons front office should trade away Grant. The 27-year-old came to Detroit on his own terms and has shown he believes in what Weaver is building here. Grant is an extremely valuable piece to this rebuild, and trading him away is extremely unlikely to happen this offseason.

That being said, this trade proposal is very intriguing. While Detroit does not necessarily need to make a trade like this, it can be argued that Jackson Jr. is a better fit with the team’s young core. Ultimately this is a trade proposal that makes a lot of sense for both sides.
