Detroit Pistons: 3 things Deividas Sirvydis must improve to earn minutes
Detroit Pistons: Deividas Sirvydis needs to do more than just shoot
One thing that really impressed me about Deividas Sirvydis this season was that he showed he can do more on offense than just shoot.
He ran the floor well, moved without the ball and even had an impressive Euro-step in transition, so Sirvydis can be more than just a spot-up shooter.
He needs to continue to move relentlessly without the ball, to get himself in position to score and let guys like Killian Hayes and Cade Cunningham find him.
Sirvydis also needs to work on his handles so that he can work in the pick-and-roll. This is a guy with plus size who has incredible range, so he could be lethal in the pick-and-roll, but only if he occasionally flashes the ability to beat people off the dribble.
I’d love to see him more aggressive with the ball so that defenders will have to back off a little bit, which will create space for his shot.
I think he has exciting potential on the offensive end, especially if he is given the green light and lets it fly when he does get in the game.
