What if Jalen Green and Jalen Suggs look better in front of the Detroit Pistons brass than Cade Cunningham?

As the whole (Pistons) world knows, Cade Cunningham was in Detroit on Tuesday. One assumes he was there for his workout with the Pistons, but he also took in a Tigers game, and seemed to enjoy himself.

Now, unlike, 2017, there has been no leak that the workout did not go well. It was described by ESPN as a ‘light’ workout.

Maybe the Pistons already knew all they needed to about Cunningham, and the workout was a formality, just a chance to get together. Or, there were a couple of things they wanted Cunningham to show them, skills they might have questions about, after watching his Oklahoma State games.

Or maybe the workout was not as ‘light’ as the sources told ESPN. On the outside, no one knows.

Can Green or Suggs knock the socks off the Pistons brass? Would it matter.

In 2017, it was not just that the consensus No. 1 had a bad workout to cause the trade down, but that Tatum had a great one for Boston. Tatum was not some guy out of nowhere. The Duke product was expected to be a top five pick, just not first.

Many people say Jalen Green has the highest ceiling of any player in the draft (but a lower floor than Cunningham). What if if came to the Henry Ford Performance Center and put on a show. He is extremely athletic and has a lot of ability on the offensive end.

What if Green knocks down threes, throw downs ferocious dunks, snaps off no-look passes and has amazing agility in drives to the hoop. What if the G-League Ignite wing shows the Pistons that he might be reaching his high ceiling real soon?

The big questions about Suggs is his outside shot. Cunningham was a much better outside shooter than Suggs in college and, in today’s NBA, that means a lot.

So, what if Suggs shows up in Detroit and is shooting threes like he is the next Steph Curry? A Suggs who can snipe is extremely valuable to a team; more than Cunningham?

If Evan Mobley does come to work out, he is suppose to be the ultimate in what you are looking for in a modern-day NBA center. And we all know just how much Pistons GM Troy Weaver likes centers. He likes them a lot, and when would the Pistons have a chance again at a big man like Mobley?
