For fans of the Detroit Pistons, the NBA Draft cannot get here soon enough.

We’ve spent the last weeks enduring all of the trade talk and reasons the Pistons might not take Cade Cunningham with the overall number one pick.

But Cunningham has superstar potential and seems to actually want to be in Detroit, so I think it’s a done deal regardless of the offers that are on the table.

Very few teams have traded the number one pick, and when they have, it’s been in a year when there wasn’t a consensus guy at the top.

Though you will find some people who like Jalen Green more, Cunningham is a special talent who can be a franchise changer.

He is also a smart young man who really understands the game, the areas he needs to improve and the stakes of being the number one guy.

He’s ready to put the city of Detroit on his shoulders and I for one can’t wait.
