Detroit Pistons: NBA Mock Draft 6.0 pick No. 22

Pick Analysis. Small forward/ shooting guard. Virginia / LA Lakers. 20. Scouting Report. Trey Murphy III. 22. player

Until LeBron James retires from the league (if that ever happens) the Lakers are going to be trying to win titles by building around him.

Typically, this means guys who can defend their position, shoot the 3-point shot and don’t need the ball in their hands too much.

Trey Murphy profiles as a guy who is all of those things, as he has plus size for a wing or shooting guard, can cover a few spots on the perimeter, and is one of the best shooters in the draft.

I see the Lakers as the team that matches up best with the Detroit Pistons for a first-round trade, as the Pistons have a veteran they could use and the Lakers aren’t really all that interested in adding another young player to a team trying to win titles right now.
