Detroit Pistons: NBA Mock Draft 6.0 pick No. 5

player. 38. Scouting Report. Scottie Barnes. 5. Pick Analysis. Forward. Florida State / Orlando Magic

This is where things start to get controversial, as Jonathan Kuminga has long been thought of as the number five guy in this draft, but Barnes has been impressive in workouts and has been rocketing up the draft boards.

Barnes is a unique talent in that he is not a great scorer or shooter, but is a gifted playmaker with a huge wingspan who should be able to defend all over the floor.

He could be a point-forward in the mold of Giannis Antetokounmpo (no, I am not saying he’ll be as good as the Greek Freak), though he usually draws comparisons to Draymond Green.

The Magic need playmakers and Barnes should be one of the best in this draft. I am sure this is not what Magic fans had in mind as they were tanking all season but Barnes is going to be an impact talent.
