The Kings have a very good young backcourt with Tyrese Haliburton and De’Aaron Fox, but lacked playmakers just about everywhere else, so Wagner does make sense for them as a playmaking forward who can shoot and defend.
The Kings are one of the teams that would probably like to trade this pick for a proven player, as they want to at least sniff the playoffs to give their beleaguered fanbase some kind of hope.
I doubt Wagner is going to warrant a parade in Sacramento but he is a very good all-around player who can fit onto just about any roster and make an impact.
