Detroit Pistons: 5 bold predictions for the NBA Draft
Prediction 5: The Detroit Pistons will take a big man in the second round of the NBA Draft
If the Detroit Pistons end up with a pick or two in the second round, I think they’ll use it on a big man.
This might not be a bold prediction, as the Pistons could use more depth and variety in their front court and after drafting Cade Cunningham will already have a lot of guards.
Shooting is one the Pistons’ top priorities in the NBA Draft, but Troy Weaver also likes bigs. That is why I can see the Pistons drafting Vrenz Bleijenbergh with one of their late second round picks.
Bleijenbergh combines the best of both worlds, as he is a 6-foot-10 combo forward who has guard skills and projects as a guy who will play on the perimeter as a stretch who can make plays.
He’s not a traditional power forward, but he does have the size (at least the height) of one, which would potentially give the Pistons another weapon and playmaker on offense who can stretch the floor.
The Detroit Pistons are going to be busy on draft night and it should be one of the most exciting in team history. This offseason has already been a long one and this draft can’t get here soon enough.
