Detroit Pistons: Deividas Sirvydis needs to have a big game

I was somewhat surprised when the Detroit Pistons cut Deividas Sirvydis, as he had a guaranteed year that cost them some money to get rid of.

I was even more surprised when the Pistons turned around and invited him to Summer League, which shows me they still haven’t given up on the youngster.

The Pistons need guys who can shoot the 3-point shot and Sirvydis can certainly do that, the question is whether he can do anything else.

I expected him to have a strong Summer League and make his case for one of the two-way contracts, as the Pistons don’t have many shooters on the roster and his skill set is more valuable than a guy like Tyler Cook.

Sirvydis hasn’t gotten a ton of minutes in Summer League, but I could see the Pistons rolling him out there in the finale to give him a chance. I would love to see him have a big game and earn one of the two-way contracts as the Pistons don’t really have another prospect like him and clearly still like what he potentially brings to the team.
