Detroit Pistons: Buying a Cade Cunningham, Saddiq Bey or Isaiah Stewart jersey

I think there are three clear choices among the young players the Detroit Pistons currently have and those are Cade Cunningham, Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart.

Cunningham is the obvious choice, as he has the most superstar potential and will undoubtedly be one of the top-selling rookie jerseys this season.

A Cunningham jersey is a long-term investment, as he should be the with the team through his first two contracts, so you will get some wear out of it. But this also marks you potentially as a bandwagon fan who just jumped on board when the Pistons got the number one pick.

As a fan who has been here MUCH longer than that and has suffered through the worst Pistons’ eras, I don’t know if I can do it.

I’m leaning more towards Bey or Stewart, who really represent the beginning of this new era and also very much represent the spirit of Detroit basketball.

Both are tough, hard-nosed players who defend and both have great nicknames that rank among the best in the NBA.

They should each be with the team for a number of years and could end up being the types of blue-collar role players that Pistons’ fans revere.

I tend to like the role players the most, so one of these two makes the most sense of the new players. But there is always a chance that even the best young players don’t pan out, so it might be safer to stick with the old school.
