Detroit Pistons: Old school jersey options

Without telling exactly how old I am, let’s just say that I remember the Bad Boys era and absolutely loved the role players on those teams.

I could rattle off names like Adrian Dantley, Rick Mahorn, Vinnie Johnson and Spider Salley, then of course there are the stars Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars or even coach Chuck Daly.

But for me, the Bad Boys era was personified by two of my favorite all-time players, Dennis Rodman and Bill Laimbeer.

That era was truly the time of Detroit vs. Everybody, as the whole league hated this team, which made me love them even more, as I hated the powerhouse Lakers and Celtics and was thrilled to see someone beat them. If I had to get a jersey from that era, I’d go with Rodman or Laimbeer.

I’ve always been a contrarian and liked the players who do the dirty work, so these guys are two of my all-time favorite Detroit Pistons.

Of course there is the Goin’ to Work era as well, but I already have a Rasheed Wallace jersey so want to change it up.

I won’t be buying a teal jersey, so don’t even bother. Teal is an awful color (though it admittedly looks good on Bey) that should be put into a rocket and shot into the sun, along with those jerseys.

These two legends agree:

On Blaha, it ain’t happening, sorry. I know a lot of you are pushing for the teal to come back, but you obviously didn’t live through that era, as they were hideous and are best forgotten, not made into nostalgia for an age that shouldn’t have existed.
