Detroit Pistons: What did NBA 2K22 do to Cade Cunningham?
NBA 2K22 hasn’t even been released yet and already it is causing controversy among fans of Cade Cunningham and the Detroit Pistons.
The Pistons haven’t had a superstar in what seems like 100 years, so having the number one pick will definitely increase interest in NBA 2K’s latest release, which will be out on the 10th of September.
Cade Cunningham has a chance to be that superstar, so obviously Pistons’ fans were excited to see what NBA 2K22 had in store for Detroit’s potential savior.
So far, what we’ve seen has been a mixed bag.
Detroit Pistons: Cade Cunningham’s ranking on NBA 2K22
Cade Cunningham will start off his video game career with an 80 overall ranking, which seems pretty fair.
It’s hard to give a rookie much more than that, so Cunningham will have to prove himself before he jumps into the elite of the game’s rankings.
His attributes have yet to be assigned, but it looks like Cade will have solid overall skills for those of you itching to play NBA 2K22 as the Detroit Pistons.
I don’t think anyone can argue with this ranking too much, as it is middle of the road for a number one pick, but fans will definitely have plenty to say about the way Cade looks in the game.
Detroit Pistons: Cade Cunningham’s face in NBA 2K22
If you are looking for something to complain about, take a look at these first released images of Cade Cunningham, who was in part of the game’s trailer.
I’m going to be honest: this doesn’t look great. It’s been a long time since I played NBA 2K but it doesn’t seem like the graphics or face modeling have gotten much better.
I made a player based on myself once and the scan looked a lot more like me than this looks like Cade Cunningham, which is sad, as I was not the number one pick in the NBA Draft. (no, really!)
It seems like the game developers could have done a better job of promoting the number one pick by at least making a player who looks like him. This could be anyone and looks more like one of the generic players you would make yourself and give an auto-generated name like “Dick Slasher” or “Kenny Kennison.”
Fans were not pleased, as you can see in the comments, and once again NBA 2K has seemingly let some fans down.
Is anyone ever happy with this game? It didn’t particularly make me want to buy it, so I will have to wait for further reviews and screen shots before deciding whether I want to play as this weird looking Cade Cunningham.
