Yesterday, we took a look at the 5 best shooters on the Detroit Pistons and today we’ll take a look at the rebounding.

Like shooting, rebounding could be one of the Pistons’ biggest weaknesses next season, as they weren’t good at it last season and may not have improved.

The Pistons traded out their best rebounder Mason Plumlee for Kelly Olynyk a guy who has averaged 5.1 rebounds per game for his career.

Olynyk should help the development of Cade Cunningham and Killian Hayes, but he won’t help the rebounding much.

Same with Jerami Grant, who only averaged 4.6 rebounds per game last season, which is pretty low for a guy who spent a lot of time at power forward.

If the Detroit Pistons are going to get better in this area, they will need improvements from their own guys, as well as some of the new faces recently added to the roster.

Detroit Pistons best rebounders #5- Saddiq Bey

Bey had some big rebounding games for the Detroit Pistons last season, going into double-digits four times.

He finished with 4.5 rebounds per game, which isn’t great but isn’t bad for a guy who mostly played small forward.

Rebounding is mostly about I.Q. and effort, and Bey has both, so I expect his rebounding numbers to tick up next season and for him to average closer to 6-7 per game.

Bey is trying to prove he is more than just a 3-and-D guy and becoming a plus rebounder for the position is one step in the right direction.
