Can the Detroit Pistons win the battle of the benches?

The Pistons had one of the best bench units in the NBA last season, and it should be a strength again this season with guys like Kelly Olynyk, Frank Jackson, Cory Joseph and Hamidou Diallo.

The Bulls will be missing their top bench scorer, Coby White, so the Pistons should have an advantage over the Bulls’ bench, which is not as deep.

I’d say the Bulls have a clear advantage in the starting lineup, but after that they get thin quickly, with guys like Troy Brown Jr. and Derrick Jones Jr. anchoring the bench with Alex Caruso.

Fo the Pistons to have a chance in this game, they are going to have to win this battle by getting up and down the floor and making 3-point shots.

This is a game where the Pistons will need Frank Jackson and Kelly Olynyk to hit shots off the bench. They will also need Josh Jackson to play a big role, whether he is in the starting lineup or coming off the bench.

I like the Pistons’ bench in this one, but we’ll have to see if the starters can keep it close and give them a chance to take over the game.
