Detroit Pistons: Will the Pistons be able to score in the half court offense?

The Pistons did not shoot the ball well in preseason and are still missing Cade Cunningham, so there is a big question mark around how they are going to score in the half court.

The Bulls are likely to just pack the lane against the starting five and either force them to shoot from range or drive into defenders.

If Saddiq Bey and Jerami Grant can hit shots early on, it could loosen the defense up a bit, but ultimately the Bulls are going to make the Pistons try to go through or over them in the half court.

The Pistons need to try to get into the teeth of the Bulls’ defense, draw fouls and get to the line, as they did effectively in the preseason.

Guys like Bey, Josh Jackson and Grant are going to have to make good decisions with the ball, look for open teammates off drives and try to get the Bulls in foul trouble early.

The Pistons did flash some more creative offensive sets in the final preseason game, and they will need every trick in their bag to keep the offense flowing in the half court and not stagnate.

It is going to be a tough challenge with Cade Cunningham out, but if the Detroit Pistons can rally around his injury and get an opening night win, it would be a massive confidence boost moving forward.
