The Detroit Pistons have two players in Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart who are trying to make big strides in their second year.

Both have managed to avoid the dreaded sophomore slump so far this year, but some players have not been so lucky, including several from last season’s All-Rookie squads.

If you take a look at the All-Rookie teams from last season, exactly half of the players are playing well so far in the young season while the other half have been struggling or at least taken a step back from where they were as rookies.

Saddiq Bey has been the bright spot of the season so far for the Detroit Pistons and Isaiah Stewart hasn’t been far behind, but how do they stand up against their fellow sophomores?

Here’s a look at which second-year players are thriving and which have had slow starts to the season.

Detroit Pistons: These sophomores are slumping

Patrick Williams-Chicago Bulls

Williams has started the season slowly even though he is playing the same number of minutes. He is not getting as many shots with the additions of Lonzo Ball and DeMar DeRozan, which was probably to be expected, so his numbers are down across the board.

Isaac Okoro-Cleveland Cavaliers

Okoro’s points, rebounds, assists and minutes are all down from last season through the first four games. Like Williams, Okoro has lost shots due to his team’s improvement, but he also suffered a minor hamstring injury that could keep him sidelined for a few games.
