The Detroit Pistons have not gotten off to a great start and that includes just about every player on the team.

The Pistons have started collectively ice-cold, unable to hit 3-point shots or execute much of an offense in the half court.

It has been frustrating to watch at times, but since this is a rebuilding year we just have to keep reminding ourselves that reps and development are what are most important.

That is why I was somewhat surprised when the Detroit Pistons announced they’d be sending three players to the G-League.

There were a couple of surprising aspects of this move.

Detroit Pistons: Isaiah Livers and Jamorko Pickett

Isaiah Livers should be cleared for action as of yesterday and the Pistons clearly want to get him up to speed in the G-League, which makes total sense.

I’m hoping Livers can make an impact this season, as the Pistons could use his 3-point shooting. Hopefully he is now 100 percent and can get into game shape soon.

I was also a bit surprised that the Detroit Pistons didn’t send Jamorko Pickett to the G-League with them. Pickett is a longshot rookie who impressed in the preseason, but he hasn’t played in the regular season so far.

I think the fact that the Pistons kept him on the roster may be a sign that we’ll see him get some run soon, as the Pistons have been terrible and need an injection of energy.

Given the slow starts and injuries the Pistons are dealing with, they might have to give one of these young guys a shot and it could be Pickett.
