The Detroit Pistons and Phoenix Suns are two teams headed in opposite directions but Detroit will try to change that tonight on the road.

The Suns have won an impressive 17 games in a row and look like a title contender on both sides of the ball. They’re the NBA’s best “clutch” team, have an elite scorer and several very good defenders to go along with floor general Chris Paul, so all of the elements are there to make another run at a title.

The Pistons have lost seven games in a row and have the league’s worst offense. The shooting has been so bad that I’ve actually had fans accuse the team of missing them on purpose, which is ridiculous, but when you are this bad, even the conspiracy theories start to sound logical.

All signs point towards a blowout tonight in Phoenix, but the Suns have to lose another game sometime and the Pistons are bound to win another one (right?!?) so who knows, maybe both streaks will end tonight in the Footprint Center, which is really one of the worst arena names even by today’s low, corporate branded standards.

Here are the odds and some fantasy bets for the Pistons vs. Suns.

Detroit Pistons vs. Phoenix Suns: Odds, spread and over/under

According to WynnBET, the Pistons are 13 point underdogs on the road tonight in Phoenix, the second-highest spread of the season for Detroit. Honestly, it could be higher even though Devin Booker is not likely to play tonight.

The Pistons lost to a Curry-less Warriors and recently to a Dame-less Trail Blazers team, so don’t let Booker’s absence get you too excited.

The money lines are set at +650 for the Pistons and -1000 for the Suns, so the books aren’t giving Detroit much of a chance even with Booker unlikely to play.

The over/under is 208, which seems about right given Detroit’s lack of offense and the Suns 2nd-ranked defense. The Pistons have failed to score 100 in 4-of-5 and there is no sign of their season-long shooting slump coming to an end, though Cade Cunningham is coming off his best scoring night as a pro and looks like he’s finding a rhythm.

If I had to bet this one, I’d take the points though I am not even confident in that. However, the Pistons have been fighting to the last second in every game and could find another late cover in this one. T

he Pistons have been decent against the spread (10-11 and 5-6 on the road) but I can’t see them beating the Suns even without Booker. If you are degenerate and have to bet, take the points and hope the Pistons can stay close or make a late run against the Suns’ subs.

Detroit Pistons vs. Phoenix Suns: Best daily fantasy bets

I have to be honest: I really don’t like any matchup for the Pistons other than Cade Cunningham. Cunningham is going to get his rebounds and assists even if the shots aren’t falling, so he’s a solid play every night.

Without Booker his job on defense gets a little easier, but the Suns have some very good defenders, particularly Mikal Bridges, who could be matched up on Cade.

Jerami Grant did have one big game against the Suns last season, dropping 31 points and grabbing 10 boards, but other than that, he’s not had a ton of success against Phoenix dating back to his time in Denver.

This would be a great game to take a break from betting the Pistons in daily fantasy, as they just don’t have any great matchups.

How to watch

This one has another late start time (I hate the Western Conference games) and tips off at 9:00 PM ET. You can watch on Bally Sports Detroit and listen on 97.1 FM The Ticket if you feel like staying up. I hope I’m wrong, but this might be a good game to get some extra sleep.

Next. Cade Cunningham is a lot closer to rookie Luka Doncic than you might think. dark
