Detroit Pistons hope to end streak vs. Pacers: Odds, best bets

It’s been nearly a month since the Detroit Pistons beat the Indiana Pacers for their 4th win of the season.

The Pacers have gone 6-8 since while the Pistons are mired in a 12-game losing streak and threatening to break the franchise’s all-time losing streak if they are not careful.

This was one of four games in December that I thought the Pistons had a chance of winning, and if they don’t beat the Pacers or Rockets in the next two games, Detroit is at serious risk of entering the new year on a 20-game losing streak.

Both the Pacers and the Detroit Pistons have been the subject of trade rumors, as the Pacers reportedly want to clean house and start over while the Pistons would love to move Jerami Grant before the deadline.

The Pacers will try to avenge their loss to Detroit in which they only scored 89 points and the Pistons will try to end this horrendous streak behind rookie star Cade Cunningham.

Detroit Pistons vs. Indiana Pacers: Odds, spread, over/under

According to WynnBET, the Pistons are 10.5 point underdogs on the road against the Pacers, a spread that has grown because of the absence of Jerami Grant.

Even without Grant, this seems high, as the Pistons played pretty well (for three quarters) against the Nets and may have found some things on offense with a small-ball lineup and more ball movement.

The money lines are set at +400 for the Pistons and -500 for the Pacers, so the books aren’t giving the Pistons much chance to win this one.

The over/under is set at 209.5, and given that both of these teams failed to even break 100 in the last meeting, I’d hammer the under on that one.

This streak has to end sometime, will it be tonight? It’s hard to imagine the Pistons winning at this point, but those odds are pretty tasty given that the Pacers stink too. I am not saying you should bet Detroit to win, but given the odds and their opponent, this might be the best value bet you are going to get all season.

Pistons vs. Pacers: Best daily fantasy bets

With Jerami Grant out, Cade Cunningham is going to be a strong play, as he is going to get more shots and have the ball in his hands even more, which should lead to more assists.

Cade sniffed a triple-double the last time these two played and I like him to do it again, especially after a few days off to rest and recalibrate.

I have no earthly reason to recommend Saddiq Bey, as he has been struggling mightily lately, but he has said all of the right things in interviews and scored 15 against the Pacers in the last meeting. Detroit is desperate to get him going and I like that to happen tonight.

Another low-cost daily fantasy play I like is Saben Lee, who scored 17 points and added six rebounds and six assists in the last game against the Nets. Lee earned himself another chance tonight and will relish the chance to take it at TJ McConnell.

I also like Hamidou Diallo to sniff a double-double in this one and he would be another decent low-cost play.

How to watch

The game vs. the Pacers tips off at 7:00 PM ET and you can watch it on Bally Sports Detroit. If you want to listen on the radio, the game will be broadcast on 950 AM.
