Player Isaiah Livers with three guards and Beef Stew

Isaiah Livers saw his first action in the last game and could give the Pistons another weapon off the bench, which they desperately need.

Livers is the prototypical 3-and-D player, and could fit well as a power forward with Isaiah Stewart.

I’d love to see the two of them run with three guards in the bench unit, play up tempo and try to punish the other team’s bigs in transition.

Trey Lyles needs to stay on the bench, as his minutes are not productive for the Pistons, who should instead turn to the rookie and see what he can do.

Spreading the floor with four shooters could also help clear some space for Stewart, who really needs to find some offense.

The Detroit Pistons should press more

Most NBA teams are reluctant to try the full court press, as players are just too skilled and it often leads to easy buckets.

But the Pistons had some success in the game vs. the Pacers having Cade Cunningham and Killian Hayes pick up Indiana in the backcourt and pressure the ball.

The Pistons are at their best when they are playing fast, creating chaos and running, as they are brutal in the half court and need to find ways to get some easy buckets.

Both Cade and Killian are adept at getting steals and going the other way, so I’d like to see the Detroit Pistons use the press more often as a way to increase their pace and wreak some havoc.

The Houston Rockets will be missing their starting backcourt, so this would be an ideal game to break out the press for extended periods, especially early in the game.
