The Detroit Pistons will take a 13-game losing streak into today’s afternoon game against the Houston Rockets.

They’ll be nothing at stake in this one except pride, as both teams are at or near the bottom of their respective conferences and racing towards a top pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

The Rockets will be without Jalen Green, which is disappointing for the fans who were looking forward to booing him over his greasy talk about Detroit.

This game is all about pride for the Detroit Pistons, as they are playing a similarly bad team that is shorthanded on their own floor, so this is as close to a “must-win” game as a four-win team can have.

Detroit is nearing the all-time franchise losing streak, and if they don’t get this one against the Rockets, they may not win another game this year and will carry a 20-game losing streak into 2022, which is not how they want to remember Cade Cunningham‘s rookie season.

Will the Pistons finally break their streak tonight against the Rockets?

Detroit Pistons vs. Houston Rockets: Odds, spread, over/under

According to WynnBET, the Detroit Pistons are 1.5 point favorites at home against the Houston Rockets, which is the first time they’ve been favored in a game in a LONG time and will be the last time in this calendar year.

The money lines are set at +100 for the Rockets and -120 for the Pistons, so even though Detroit is favored, the books aren’t confident they are going to actually win the game.

The over/under is 215, which suddenly seems low given how bad the Pistons’ defense has been without Jerami Grant. Both of these young squads are bad defensively, so for once I like the over for the offensively challenged Pistons.

Detroit really has to win this game or this streak could go on indefinitely, so I expect them to come out with fire today.

Take the Pistons to win with the over and hope that pride wins the day.

Pistons vs. Rockets: Best fantasy bets

With Clarence Green and Kevin Porter Jr. both listed as “out” with injuries, this should be a day for Cade Cunningham to go off.

I was hoping to see Cade thrash Green, but he’ll have to settle for DJ Augustin, who he should dominate. I predict Cunningham will have his second triple-double of the season today.

For a low cost play, take Frank Jackson, who has been on fire shooting the ball of late and is making his case to move into the starting five in place of Killian Hayes, who is still nursing an injured thumb and can’t score.

I love Cade and Frank in this game as daily fantasy bets.
