The Detroit Pistons are going to be mentioned a lot at the trade deadline, as they have one of the best players available in Jerami Grant.

A Grant trade seems almost inevitable at this point, as the Detroit Pistons are still clearly a long way from competing and need to add more talent to their roster.

Trading Grant is probably the easiest way to do so, and his value may never be higher even though he is currently out with a thumb injury.

With so many teams in contention and so few impact players available, it is not surprising that the Pistons are reportedly getting a lot of calls on Jerami Grant.

One team that could be interested is the Phoenix Suns, who are at the top of the NBA standings, could use some wing depth and may think that a guy like Grant could be the piece that makes them a frontrunner to win the title this season.

The Suns have recently made some curious moves that may signal they are ready to trade from some of their big-man depth to secure another wing, and with the Pistons desperate for another talented big (or one depending on how you feel about Isaiah Stewart as a center), there would seem to be a logical match.

The Suns’ recent moves may mean a trade is coming

Yesterday, the Suns signed Bismack Biyombo for the rest of the season according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN:

Biyombo is a journeyman who can still rebound and protect the rim, but is hardly a guy who is going to move the needle for the Suns in terms of their title chances.

But he gives them another big man to go with starter Deandre Ayton, JaVale McGee, Jalen Smith, Frank Kaminsky, who is getting closer to returning from his injury and even Dario Saric, who has played some at the five for the Suns this season.

That is a lot of big men for one roster, so are the Suns planning a trade? And what could that possibly mean for the Detroit Pistons, who currently have Trey Lyles and second-round rookie Luka Garza as their only backup big men?
