3 teams that might want to trade for a Detroit Pistons’ veteran

Chicago Bulls

The Bulls have managed to hang onto the top seed in the Eastern Conference despite a rash of injuries.

With Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso still out, the Bulls could use a steady hand at point guard off their bench.

They could also use some help at power forward, so Cory Joseph and Trey Lyles are definitely possibilities here.

The Bulls have been one of the main names attached to Jerami Grant, but seem to be reluctant to give up forward Patrick Williams in the deal.

Los Angeles Lakers

The Lakers are trying to use some knock-off Jedi mind trick to get teams to think that Talen Horton-Tucker is a big trade asset, but it is clear that he is not. They can dream about getting an impact player like Jerami Grant with their poo poo platter, but it’s not happening, as they just don’t have the assets.

But THT wouldn’t be a bad get if the Pistons were sending back Cory Joseph and Trey Lyles, who don’t have the ceiling but are reliable veterans that would give the Lakers some depth.

I’m never one to help the Lakers, but if the Pistons could steal their only ascending young player and send back two aging veterans, I’d be up for it.

I have to say, watching the Lakers fall apart has been one of the best parts of this season.

Brooklyn Nets

The Nets are in a free fall right now, losing six in a row and dropping all the way to the 6th seed in the East.

The Nets were the favorite coming into the season but have not lived up to it after Kyrie Irving’s dumb drama, James Harden regressing somewhat and Durant having to miss time recently with an injury.

I’m sure the Nets would love to get their hands on Olynyk or Lyles, who would give them some much-needed depth with Aldridge and Durant both out. Would they take a chance on a veteran over youngster Nic Claxton?

An interesting question that I hope The Detroit Pistons are trying to get an answer to right now.
