Pistons vs Timberwolves Prediction

Prior to their loss to the Pelicans, the Pistons had been playing good basketball. They’d covered the spread in five of six games as Cade Cunningham’s play improved and just welcomed Jerami Grant back into the lineup. Cunningham is questionable to play today, however, due to a hip injury he sustained against New Orleans. If he’s out, the Pistons will have a tough time replicating their recent form.

They face a Timberwolves team tonight that’s been absolutely on fire offensively. Minnesota has scored at least 124 points in five of their last seven. In the two games they didn’t reach 124, they scored 115 and 109. Still pretty darn good. With a league-leading offensive rating of 121.2 and the 2nd-fastest pace of play in that stretch, they’ve been getting buckets.

It’s their defense that’s been a problem, though. With the 3rd-worst defensive rating during their hot streak, Timberwolves games have been flying over the total. The over is 11-2 in Minnesota’s last 13.

While the Pistons have improved of late, their defense has still had its issues. They rank 25th in the NBA in defense rating over their last 15 but have scored at least 100 points in nine of their last 10.

I think we’ll see a lot of points in this one but that Minnesota’s firepower will prove to be a bit too much for Detroit to handle. I’m taking the over 229 (-110) and the Timberwolves -7 (-110) in a matchup I see ending somewhere in the neighborhood of 125-111.

While -110 odds are lovely and all, the best odds are +2000, especially when they pay out whether you win or lose! Don’t forget to claim your offer now. Bet $10, Win $200 by signing up for WynnBET now!
