Pistons vs Magic Prediction
Mama mia, this one is gross. Which do you like more, a root canal or getting your teeth pulled? Both are going to hurt but we have to pick one. Well, in picking the lesser of two evils in this matchup, I actually think the Pistons have a great chance to end their losing streak tonight.
Detroit is 1-6 against the spread (ATS) in their last seven but did just welcome Cade Cunningham back into the lineup. They now have him, Saddiq Bey and Jerami Grant all healthy and we should see some improvement out of a team that ranks dead last in net rating over their past 15 games.
Washington, meanwhile, is still without Bradley Beal and just traded away Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans for Kristaps Porzingis. Porzingis won’t play tonight so the Wizards will be short-handed.
Even at full strength, this team has been terrible. Washington is just 2-15-1 ATS over their last 18 and is just 7-17 ATS as a favorite this season. Kyle Kuzma is their best active player, which should tell you a whole lot about the state of the Wizards.
The Pistons may actually have three players better than the Wizards’ best player today in Cunningham, Bey, and Grant. They’ll be eager to end their slump and know there’s no better matchup than against Washington.
Give me the Pistons +4 (-110) and a sprinkle on the moneyline (+150). There’s just no way the Wizards should be favored by four points over anybody and as bettors we have to take advantage.
