The Detroit Pistons sit at the bottom of the NBA standing. With just 24 games remaining in this season’s schedule, the front office is confident they’re moving in the right direction, even though the record does not show it.  With plenty of cap space available in the offseason, the time is now to see what they got in these young players.

The focus will be, as it’s been all year, on player development, as the season comes to a close. They are one of the youngest teams in the league, and need all the experience they can handle. With the recent addition of Marvin Bagley lll at the trade deadline, that won’t change. He fits the age timeline at only 22 years old, and could prove to be a building block for the organization.

Coach Dwane Casey will assess things over the NBA All-Star weekend and should make some minor adjustments. Whether it’s lineups changes, or new wrinkles offensively that best suit the personnel, there should be some differences.

Late in the season is not the time to make a systematic overhaul, but tweaking things should be expected. There’s plenty of room for improvements with this team.
