The Pistons “Big 3” comes through again

The Detroit Pistons’ “Big 3” of Cade Cunningham, Saddiq Bey and Jerami Grant continued to roll last night, with the three combining for over 60 points for the third straight game.

Detroit got little from their bench last night, so needed a big effort from their three best players to eek out a win.

The three combined for 71 points, 21 rebounds and 12 assists, but most importantly, it all came within the flow of the offense.

Jerami Grant has adjusted since returning to the Pistons, is taking fewer shots overall, not taking many out of isolation plays and is moving the ball more effectively than earlier in the season.

Saddiq Bey didn’t have a great night shooting from behind the arc, but he kept taking it to the rack and hit a couple of high degree of difficulty shots in the clutch to help hold off the surging Raptors.

Cunningham grabbed 12 boards, most of them of the defensive variety, which helped close out possessions and got the Pistons moving in transition.

There were concerns that Grant’s return would disrupt the offensive flow, but that has not been the case. It’s looking more and more like the fit will work, which may change some of Detroit’s offseason plans when it comes to Grant.
