The Detroit Pistons dropped another close game, this one to the Cleveland Cavaliers, bringing Cade Cunningham vs. Evan Mobley to a draw for the season.

The two teams split the season series, and the Pistons dropped to 1.5 games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder for the fourth-worst record in the league.

They are now 1.5 games ahead of league-worst Houston and just a half game ahead of the Orlando Magic for the second-worst record in the league.

There is no difference when it comes to the odds for a top-4 pick, but the third-worst record can drop all the way to 7th while the worst record stays in the  top-5 of the Draft.

It was the final matchup between two of the frontrunners for Rookie of the Year, so did anything change?

Pistons vs. Cavaliers: Final battle of Cade Cunningham vs. Evan Mobley

There are at least 4-5 guys who have a legit case for Rookie of the Year this season, but most people agree the frontrunners are Evan Mobley, Cade Cunningham and Scottie Barnes.

This is one of the deepest draft classes in years, with several guys who look like future All-NBA talents, so some very good players are going to get snubbed for the award no matter who wins.

I’m not sure much changed last night, as both Cunningham and Mobley put up double doubles, with Evan logging 12 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, a steal and two blocks while Cunningham put up 15 points, 10 assists, six rebounds, two steals and a block.

These stat lines show how much these two rookies do for their respective teams, and illustrate how difficult this choice is going to be.

They both have great individual numbers, but Mobley’s team success will probably tip the award in his favor.
