Pistons betting odds vs. Nets: Lottery odds at stake for Detroit
The Detroit Pistons are once again in the delicate balancing act of trying to develop their young players and instill winning habits while also trying to secure a top pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.
The Pistons enter today just a half game behind both the Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets for the worst record in the league.
Detroit has only won two of their last 10 games but they’ve been close in all of them, only failing to cover the spread once since the middle of February.
Isaiah Stewart thinks this is a sign of good things to come next season, but the first order of business is finishing this last week of the season.
With a two-game cushion between them and OKC for the fourth-worst record, the Pistons are now almost assured of landing in the bottom three and getting the best possible lottery odds for a number one pick or to stay in the top-4.
An unexpected road win against Brooklyn tonight would potentially blow the tread off the tank, but with Jerami Grant now out for the season, it’s more likely we’ll be looking at another close loss.
Detroit Pistons @ Brooklyn Nets: Odds, spread, over/under and best bets
According to WynnBET, the Pistons are whopping 13.5 point underdogs against Brooklyn.
Have the books been paying attention at all? The Pistons haven’t lost by this much since a blowout by Charlotte in the middle of February and I love them to cover this spread again tonight, even with Grant out.
The money lines are set at +650 for Detroit and -1000 for Brooklyn, so the books don’t give the Pistons much chance of actually winning this game.
The over/under is a combined 230 points, which seems very high considering these two teams score a combined 217 points on average and allow 224 between them.
I like the Pistons to cover and the under.
As for daily fantasy bets, there are really only two that make sense for the Detroit Pistons right now: Cade Cunningham and Marvin Bagley III.
Cunningham is still trying to pad his resume for Rookie of the Year and has had two good games against the Nets his season already.
MBIII is coming off his best game as a Piston and will look to go back to work in the paint against the smaller Nets’ defenders. With Isaiah Stewart taking up most of Andre Drummond’s attention on the boards, MBIII should be able to clean up some offensive rebounds for easy put backs.
