Pistons odds vs. Mavericks: Cade Cunningham, Luka and the tank
The Detroit Pistons will take on the Dallas Mavericks tonight in a battle between Cade Cunningham, Luka Doncic and the tank.
Cade is often compared to Luka, and would love to get the better of him tonight to help bolster his case for Rookie of the Year.
Cunningham has sat the last two games with a tank injury, which probably didn’t help his case to win the award, but he still has three games to pad his resume and showing out against one of the best players in the world couldn’t hurt.
The Pistons got some help with their lottery odds from OKC and Orlando, who both won last night, giving Detroit a one-game cushion between the third-worst record and the fourth.
Detroit can now secure the best possible odds for a top-4 pick by losing their final three games against the Mavs, Bucks and 76ers, three teams jostling for playoff position.
Detroit has pretty much been tank-proof, even with many of their veterans sitting, as they are just a little more talented and deep than the other bad teams, which is a good thing for the future.
The Pistons will be without Hamidou Diallo, Jerami Grant, Marvin Bagley III, Cory Joseph, Rodney McGruder and Kelly Olynyk tonight, so the youth brigade will be on full display.
The Mavs will be missing Maxi Kleber and Tim Hardaway Jr, so tonight will be Cade and Saddiq Bey‘s night to shine as Detroit tries to win their 4th in a row and reward their fans with some chaos in the lottery odds.
Detroit Pistons vs. Dallas Mavericks: Odds, spread, over under, Cade Cunningham and best bets
According to WynnBET, the Pistons are nine point underdogs at home tonight against the Mavs.
Considering Detroit is sitting all of their veterans, I’d say the books finally caught onto the Pistons’ cover being the best bet in basketball over the last two months, as I thought this would be higher.
Detroit has covered all but one spread in their last 23 games, so I love them to keep that up and be in another close one tonight.
The money lines are set at +350 for Detroit and -450 for Dallas who are just one game behind the Warriors for the 3rd seed and two ahead of the Jazz for the 5th.
The over/under is a combined 221 points, which seems high to me. These teams average just 212 points combined and allow 217, so I’d take the Pistons to cover with the under.
Cade Cunningham could be one of the best daily fantasy bets in the NBA tonight, as he is going to try and go off against Luka Doncic and get some national shine on his Rookie of the Year case.
I love Saddiq Bey as well, who will also be the beneficiary of some extra shots with so many guys out.
For a low-cost play, check out the newly acquired Carsen Edwards, who scored 13 points and added nine assists in his first game as a Piston and should get plenty of chances tonight. I think it’s possible he will go off, so get him while he is cheap.
