Some possible good news about the Detroit Pistons’ uniforms

I don’t think anything has divided the fanbase of the Detroit Pistons more than the uniforms.

It starts with the teal, a color that many of us feel should be put into a rocket ship and launched into the Sun, while others love it and hoped to see a return.

The Teal Army won out after an impressive online campaign and the Pistons will reportedly bring the teal back next season as an alternate.

While I’m not excited to see the teal rear its ugly head again, it will at least be something new and colorful, so I will give it a chance.

It’s also one less thing to argue about, but what has never been debated is how awful the gray or “chrome” jerseys are.

If I’ve being honest, the chrome jerseys are just gray and are pretty much the most boring look the Pistons have ever had. The teal is awful but at least it’s worth talking about. Who is excited about the color gray? Exactly no one.

It just brings back bad memories of the Andre Drummond era, which is best left in the past. The good news is that we may finally be getting a reprieve from the gray wasteland and all it represents.

Are the Detroit Pistons getting rid of the gray uniforms?

On a recent episode of the Bun and Cardigan show, James Edwards III of The Athletic said that his sources told him the gray jerseys will not be part of the future. You can take a minute to give a standing ovation if you’d like.

If this is true, Pistons fans will be delighted, as I have yet to meet a single person who champions any version of the gray uniforms.

Hopefully the Pistons will keep this year’s red city editions, as I thought they were a welcome change and Detroit always seemed to play well in them.

Cade Cunningham is ushering in a new era of Detroit Pistons’ basketball, so it is only right that they start with a clean slate, which includes getting rid of those gray uniforms forever.
