The Detroit Pistons won just 23 games this season, so will be looking for an injection of talent in the offseason.

They will have some cap space, a big trade asset in Jerami Grant, a lottery pick in the 2022 NBA Draft as well as one in the middle of the second round.

We’ve been looking at eliminated playoff teams to identify players who might be fits on the Detroit Pistons.

So far we have covered:

Today we’ll be looking at the Brooklyn Nets, who were undoubtedly the NBA’s most disappointing team this season.

The Nets came into the season as one of the favorites to win the title, but injuries, Kyrie Irving’s anti-vax stance, Ben Simmons’ missing heart and a total lack of team chemistry led to a first-round playoff sweep at the hands of the Celtics.

If ever there was a team that needed a shakeup, it’s the Brooklyn Nets, who have Kevin Durant, two knuckleheads in Kyrie and Simmons and a bunch of role players who are about to become free agents.

They have a bloated and top-heavy payroll and not a whole lot of ways to get better outside of trading Simmons (good luck!) or trading Iriving after he signs his player option for $36 million, again, good luck trading a guy who has played 103 games in the last three seasons combined and is on the wrong side of 30.

The Nets are a mess and could have up to eight players hitting the market this offseason, some of which might interest the Detroit Pistons.

They range from “unlikely” to “HELL NO” to “hmmmm” to “yes, let’s do it!”
