The Detroit Pistons hope to add some depth with the 46th pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

They have plenty of needs to fill, especially at guard where they need an influx of athleticism and talent behind Cade Cunningham.

Detroit also has a trio of players in Cory Joseph (player option), Frank Jackson (team option) and Hamidou Diallo (team option) who might not be on the roster next season, with cheaper and potentially better options available in the NBA Draft and free agency.

This year’s free-agent shooting guard group is weak past the top, so the Pistons could look to find some undervalued talent in the second round as they did last season with Isaiah Livers.

Recently, a tall combo guard out of Arizona declared for the draft and he might be the type of talent the Detroit Pistons are looking for.

Pistons draft: Dalen Terrry’s strengths and weaknesses

Dalen Terry is a 6-foot-7 combo guard out of Arizona who averaged eight points 4.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists in his sophomore season.

He has pretty good shooting splits, hitting 57 percent from 2-point range and over 36 percent from behind the arc.

He was not a high-volume scorer for the Wildcats, but showed he is a good rebounder for the position and a solid playmaker with size.

He loves to run the floor and knows how to finish above the rim in transition, which you can see from these highlights.

He’s a high-motor player who likes to attack the rim on offense and is adept at getting steals on the defensive end. He profiles as a guy who could be a pretty good defender, but he needs to improve his shot and put on some muscle.

2022 NBA Draft: How Dalen Terry fits on the Detroit Pistons

The Pistons could use more athleticism and playmaking on the wing, and Terry profiles as a guy who should be able to create for himself and teammates.

He’s a versatile wing who can defend and make energy plays, which is something every team in the NBA needs, including the Pistons.

He’s probably a year or two away from being able to make a real impact, and could return to college, so if he does come out, he’d be a candidate for the G-League or the deep bench depending on what the Pistons do with their other guards.

He has the versatility to play with a lot of different groups, and would potentially be an intriguing fit with Isaiah Livers and Killian Hayes, giving the Pistons three guys with plus size coming off the bench.
