2022 NBA Draft: Who the Pistons would take with the top-7 picks

Duke. Paolo Banchero. 4. player. Pick Analysis. Power forward. 64. Scouting Report

Obviously the only way this would happen is if the Pistons dropped out of the top-3 and some other team went for a guy other than Paolo.

Although the fit may not be perfect, having two dynamic playmakers who can get their own shot and set up teammates is a pretty good starting point for a rebuild.

Banchero has the highest floor of any of the top-4 picks in my opinion, as it is hard to imagine his size, athleticism and skill not translating to the NBA, but he might also have the lowest ceiling next to Cade Cunningham.

The Detroit Pistons can’t go wrong with any of these four guys, and if they land one of them, fans will walk away smiling.

Pick Analysis. 5. Guard. Kentucky. Shaedon Sharpe. player. Scouting Report. 64

This is where things start to get tricky, and if the Pistons do drop to the 5th pick, I wouldn’t be shocked if they tried to package it in a trade.

If not, I think they will reach for upside here and Sharpe may have as much as anyone in the 2022 NBA Draft.

The problem is that he’s a bit of a mystery man who teams have little footage of, so they’d be putting a whole lot of faith in high school tape and pre-draft workouts.

Though there are some very good players in the top-10 and there are always undervalued surprises, Sharpe has the most star potential of any player left and his skills would fit with Cade Cunningham, giving the Pistons a big and talented backcourt of the future.
