Ben Wallace became a legendary and beloved sports figure playing for the Detroit Pistons. His ability to defend catapulted him to NBA stardom, eventually landing in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

For many athletes, finding their niche after retirement can be difficult. Wallace may have found his in the state where he found success on the court.

Wallace is still involved in the game. The starting center of the Pistons’ ‘Goin’ to Work’ 2004 championship team helps Detroit out at training camp teaching the big men, and is a part owner of the G-League Grand Rapids team. Wallace also was the Pistons official representative at last year’s Draft Lottery, where the Pistons got the No. 1 pick for the first time in 51 years.

And he has a new off-the-court venture.

Ben Wallace has entered the marijuana business in Michigan. Cannabis has been legal to sell in Michigan since December, 2019.

Pursuing it with the same passion he played with in the paint. He has partnered with Rair to provide his own signature brand: Undrafted (Wallace is the only undrafted player to make the Hall of Fame).

In the thriving industry of cannabis Big Ben is making his mark.

Wallace has a variety of merchandise, ranging from lighters, and rolling papers, to clothing and accessories. He launched his own line of strains, with his signature Block Party and Bud Don’t Lie along with Clockwork being the first released.

Clockwork

This cannabis is a hybrid sativa dominant flower that packs a punch. Rich with terpenoids giving the consumer a delightful fruity citrusy taste. Great for relaxing, and winding down while maintaining a high level of focus. Many enjoy the euphoria it gives them on impact, making this strain a very high octane choice in the clutch. I’ve had difficulty locating this flower however the rosin is available at Rair locations statewide.
Block Party

This very unique hybrid blend brings a balance of indica and sativa. The Block Party strain is a stress free, pain relieving full body takeover for those looking to relax after a long day. The even balance provides a tantalizing taste of peppery strong terpenes that is well known to indica lovers. If you prefer a hybrid that’s more indica then Block Party should be your go to strain of choice. This flower reigns in at 33% thc according to the Rair website, so it’s just as strong as Big Ben.

Bud Don’t Lie

Last but not least is the highly recommended Bud Don’t Lie strain. This is another hybrid that’s more sativa dominate like the Clockwork. Those could be the only similarities between the two. This flower carries a fruity, yet earthly flavor and could be the best selection for cannabis enthusiasts. This sativa is a delight to the taste buds with its unique blends. It’s around 24% thc allowing you to enjoy the long lasting effects while not being overwhelmed from the flower.

Big Ben has already made guest appearances in Bay City, and Kalamazoo amongst other cities promoting his products. You can find them at any of the four Rair locations statewide. Wallace also made an appearance on the Everything Pistons Podcast spreading the word about Undrafted, and the benefits of cannabis. You can also go to their website to learn more about the products.
