The Detroit Pistons need to add impact talent in the 2022 NBA Draft and have a lot of ways to do it, including making a trade.

We’ve already looked at some hypotheticals for the Central Division as well as the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference, but today we’ll jump over to the West.

The Pistons will be looking to add talent around Cade Cunningham and this is a draft that might see a lot of movement considering there isn’t a consensus at the top.

The Northwest Division has a lot of possibilities for the Detroit Pistons, and if they are going to make a draft trade, I think it will be with one of these teams.

Here is one potential trade with each team from the Northwest. Remember, these are just hypotheticals (not things I think are going to happen) that show the wealth of choices the Pistons have in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Utah Jazz

I addressed the Rudy Gobert rumors already and while he would be a great fit with Cade Cunningham and their young core, the Pistons might be a year or two away from this type of move.

Nevertheless, this is one hypothetical trade involving the Jazz.

I could see the Jazz jumping at this if they thought the Gobert/Mitchell pairing had reached its ceiling. The Detroit Pistons need an upgrade at center and Gobert would give them the elite defense and screen setting that they need.

He’d make their young guards better and improve the Pistons’ defense, but like I said, it’s probably a year too soon to make a move for a guy on a super max contract that goes through 2025-26. It’s an intriguing idea but not good timing in my opinion.
