Does Zvonimir Ivisic fit in with the Detroit Pistons

Pistons general manager Troy Weaver has a fondness for big men. At one point in his first season with Detroit, he had seven centers on the roster. Now, things get pared down eventually, but Weaver does like centers.

Two of the four draft picks last year were centers, and if Chet Holmgren was somehow available at No. 5, Detroit would grab him. But if the Pistons do not get a center in the first round, why not try for one in the second?

Right now, Detroit has Marvin Bagley III, Kelly Olynyk, Isaiah Stewart and Garza as centers. There really is no room for another center, unless they were to get a standout who could immediately contribute (like Deandre Ayton)..

Ivisic is a player a couple of years away from being NBA ready.  In a couple of years, the Pistons needs might be different, and their roster certainly will have changed. A big, mobile 7-2 guy who has good all-around skills could be needed.

(UPDATE: On June 15, Ivisic withdrew his name from consideration for the 2022 NBA Draft. So he can be a draft-and-stash candidate next year.)
