As fans scramble to find any information about the Detroit Pistons and their offseason plans, a since-deleted Instagram post could be reason to get excited. It’s no secret fans would welcome Miles Bridges to the Motor City with open arms, and he may be interested in a homecoming.

The Pistons need a power forward, and Bridges is the best option there. Unless you fully believe that a starting frontcourt of Isaiah Stewart and Marvin Bagley III will make the Pistons a playoff team, you should be all aboard the Bridges train.

In a since-deleted Instagram post, it was hinted that unless Charlotte offers a maximum contract, Bridges will leave the Hornets for Detroit.

This begs the question, who is “rtbcapo”? Well, he is Bridges’ friend and makes music with him, so I would say it’s a somewhat trusted “source,” though we know the veracity of any IG post can’t be assumed.

Of course, there is a chance that Real Trench Baby wanted to just draw some attention to himself, or maybe he wanted to rhyme “trippin” with something. I can’t be sure. But maybe Miles told him to delete it so he could announce a choice himself? Maybe he’s still weighing his options?

Or it could be that he has already made the decision to return to the Charlotte Hornets.

The Charlotte Hornets made Bridges the qualifying offer to make him a restricted free agent and GM Mitch Kupchak said just yesterday that the Hornets plan to retain him.

The trade the Pistons made with the Knicks yesterday makes it far less likely they will pursue Bridges, though you can never be sure if Troy Weaver is finished or if that trade was just setting up future moves.

This has already been a wild offseason for the Detroit Pistons and free agency hasn’t even started, so stay tuned, as there could be much more to come.
