The Detroit Pistons did not make the big splash in free agency that some fans were hoping for, but the offseason is still young and there could be further moves.

You can never bet against Troy Weaver making additional trades to clear roster spaces, and there are a number of players he could target to address Detroit’s glaring need for shooting.

A guy like Isiah Roby, who recently hit the waiver wire, could be an option, as he offers the kind of shooting and upside the Pistons are looking for.

Any addition would require a complementary trade or waived player, as the Pistons don’t currently have an open roster spot. As of right now, this looks like the team, but we all know that could change quickly.

Point Guards

  • Dennis Schroder
  • Goran Dragic (since signed by the Bulls)
  • DJ Augustin

The Detroit Pistons already have Cade Cunningham, Killian Hayes, Cory Joseph and Saben Lee, so they are not likely in the market for a point guard unless they ended up waiving or trading Lee or Joseph.

Even if they did, these four players are all firmly in the “ring chaser” stages of their respective careers and are unlikely to join a rebuild.

Schroder is still a decent player and would give the Pistons some veteran depth, but again, this would require additional moves and Detroit has more pressing needs.
