Detroit Pistons: Best remaining 2022 NBA free agents

Shooting guards

  • Collin Sexton
  • Austin Rivers
  • Wayne Ellington
  • Avery Bradley

The Pistons did add some depth at shooting guard when they traded for Alec Burks, but they still need more scoring and shooting, so could look to bolster that depth even further.

The big name here is restricted free agent Collin Sexton, who is a proven 25 ppg scorer who could be retained by the Cavaliers, though that is looking increasingly unlikely.

Detroit could still use a guy like Sexton, but without making additional trades, it’s impossible. If he lingers out there much longer, the Pistons might kick the tires on a sign-and-trade with Cleveland, and there is a clear one sitting there with Burks/Olynyk for Sexton.

But he may be redundant now that the Detroit Pistons have Ivey, and they may prefer the flexibility of Burks on an expiring deal.

I doubt Detroit would be interested in a reunion with Ellington or Bradley, so Sexton remains the only long-shot choice here.
