Detroit Pistons: Are there any gems on the Summer League roster?

As the Pistons’ starting lineup of the future begins to take shape, finding role players and bench scorers for the current and future stages of the roster is a valuable, yet often overlooked aspect to future success.

Last season, the Pistons were last in the NBA in net rating off the bench. Detroit also ranked 25th and 27th in offensive and defensive net ratings off the bench, along with ranking 28th in total bench minutes.

Finding reliable options to fill out the second-unit could pay immediate dividends for a rotation that’s still far from solidified.

Summer League presents another opportunity to find young prospects capable of contributing valuable minutes, who are contractually inexpensive, and can be molded within the organization for years to come.

With a nice balance of talent, experience and youth, and two nice additions to the Pistons youthful core, there’s plenty to be excited about in anticipation of Detroit making their 2022 Summer League debut.
