Detroit Pistons: Getting Kevin Durant out of the East

The Detroit Pistons are not considered contenders in the Eastern Conference, but they hope to make a leap this season and inch their way towards the play-in tournament or even the playoffs.

The Nets were the 7th seed last season after beating the Cavaliers in the play-in tournament, so could be one of the teams the Pistons are battling for that spot.

The Pistons are hoping to be this year’s Cavaliers, the team that makes a leap from the cellar into playoff contention, and having Durant out of the East would make that just a little bit easier.

Trading Durant doesn’t necessarily mean the Nets will be bad next season, as they are sure to get a huge ransom for their superstar, but if that package revolved mostly around picks and young players, we could see the Nets drop in the standings.

The Eastern Conference was much better last season, so getting one of the superstars into another conference will help teams like the Pistons.
