3 ways the Detroit Pistons could benefit from a Kevin Durant trade
The least-likely scenario
This is easily the least likely scenario to happen as the Pistons have one of if not the best young core in the league which would need to be gutted to bring a trade like this into existence. Especially now that Jerami Grant is gone.
If this were to happen, Cade Cunningham would be the only untouchable, leaving the package to be built around Bey,Jaden Ivey, Jalen Duren, and Isaiah Stewart.
This would put the Pistons in a position to contend with a big three of Kevin Durant, Cade Cunningham, and Saddiq Bey, with the starting five being rounded out by other potential trade pieces or just players currently on the bench.
Solid roster, just a huge asking price for a 34-year-old who hasn’t played more than 55 games in a season since 2019, a season where he tore his Achilles.
This may not be the best move for the long term, but it could be extremely beneficial for a couple seasons before Durant starts to decline further.
No matter what the Detroit Pistons do, they can benefit from a trade involving Kevin Durant.
