From 1996 until 2001 the Detroit Pistons wore teal uniforms. The Pistons had three winning seasons during that span, but never made it out of the first round of the playoffs.
Still, there were plenty of fans who remembered the Grant Hill-Joe Dumars-Jerry Stackhouse era fondly. But there were just as many fans who would prefer we gloss over that five year span and instead focus on the blue and red color scheme that’s been synonymous with the Motor City for decades.
So when Detroit announced the jerseys were returning for 10 appearances this season, the fan reaction was… mixed.
